Text FX
Puts Text in Motion
With Text FX you can independently animate
each of the 1,000 layers on a Power CG Plus page.
Text FX has a timeline where you can set multiple keyframes for each layer of
the title page. The keyframes allow you to vary the cropping, size, position,
blur, and fade levels over time. More than 100 keyframes can be set for each
layer.
What is Text FX?
Power CG Plus lets you compose text pages using up to 1000 layers.
Text FX now lets you animate each of these layers independently.
To create a Text Effect, compose a page with one or more layers and press the
"Text FX" button. This displays the timeline (shown below).
With the timeline you can set up to 101 keyframes for each layer.
Timeline
A keyframe allows you to change the cropping, size, position, blur, and fade
of the layer at each point in the animation. These keyframes define how each
layer of the page will animate.
To create a keyframe, double click the mouse at the desired position on the
timeline. The Keyframe Editor (shown below) will appear.

Use the Left Screen to select which portion of the layer
to display. Use the Right Screen to select the size and
postion of the layer. Use the Sliders to set the amount of blur and the fade
level of the keyframe.
Once a group of keyframes have been created to define the animation, the
Animation sequence can then be exported as a series of TGA images (with the
alpha channel) or it can be imported directly into your NLE system using the
Power CG Plugin.

The image on the left shows a 4 layer Power CG Page. We imported this page into
Adobe Premiere using the Power CG Plugin and created a 10 second AVI Sample Clip
that shows the 4 different layers in motion.
All motion in this sample clip was created using Text FX.
The Sample Clip is about 2.5Mb in length. When viewing this clip, please
keep in mind how much AVI compression can affect image quality. I assure you,
the images created by Text FX are just as clear and crisp as the images out of
Power CG.
